What a chart speaks to · love

BaZi and love.

One of the first questions people bring to a chart is about relationships. BaZi does have a great deal to say here — but it speaks in patterns, not prophecy. It will not name the person you marry. What it reads is the shape of how you love, what tends to balance you, and when partnership themes run warm or cool. Here is where a reading looks.

Where relationships live in the chart

The Spouse Palace 配偶宫
The Earthly Branch of your day pillar — the seat your Day Master sits on. Because the day pillar is the most personal one, the branch directly beneath you is traditionally read as the place of partnership: what you seek, and how a relationship sits in your life. Its hidden stems, and any clash or combination touching it, fill in the detail.
The Spouse Star
A specific Ten God that stands in for the partner. In the classical convention this is read through Wealth for a man's chart and through the Officer for a woman's — an old heuristic, not a rule about who you are. Where this star sits, and how strong it is, colours how partnership shows up.
Elemental balance
Often the most useful layer: a partner whose chart brings the element you favour tends to feel steadying, while one who piles on what you already have too much of can feel like more of the same. This is read from whole charts, not single signs.

Compatibility is two charts, not two animals

The popular shortcut is zodiac compatibility — matching year animals. It is a fun doorway, but it reads only one of eight characters on each side. A real BaZi relationship reading puts two complete charts together: both Day Masters, what each one needs, and the harmonies and clashes across all four pillars. Two people whose animals "clash" can balance each other beautifully once the full charts are read.

A note on framing. Bornchart reads relationship patterns for self-understanding and reflection — not as a verdict on anyone, a prediction of marriage, or advice to stay or leave. The classical conventions above are old heuristics; treat them as a mirror, not a map.

Read two charts side by side.

Bornchart's compatibility reading compares two full BaZi charts — Day Masters, elements, and the harmonies and clashes across every pillar — instead of a single year-animal match.
